“It certainly was no walk in the park…” We're talking about the “Marathon des Sables,” a demanding marathon in stages across the South Saharan desert held on March 25 to 31, 2007 in its 22nd edition. A stage race on foot carrying all your own food, 230 km of sand to cover in 7 days with nothing but a backpack on your shoulders containing food, water, clothing and everything you need for safety and survival. Four boys from Vicenza, the “Veneto Sport Avventura” team participated after long mental and physical training to ready themselves for this endurance challenge. A challenge where it wasn't important to cross the finish line first, but just to get there at all. A competition that brings out the deeply-rooted human values in each man and athlete: a passion for adventure, reciprocal solidarity, team spirit and sacrifice to reach a goal. Trevi Benne accompanied them because what motivates each man in a sports challenge is what drives a company to succeed in its mission. We shared the joy of each small milestone, the emotion of the arrival and the satisfaction of living a unique experience.
